Develop a multi-year plan

A psychosocial multi-year plan provides a structured approach to managing psychosocial risks in your workplace over an extended period.

It enables you to develop a proactive, long-term vision for managing psychosocial safety and align staff members to a shared purpose.

This template guides PCBUs in creating a best practice, systematic framework for psychosocial risk management, which includes:

  • effective consultation, education and awareness
  • hazard identification and control
  • workforce engagement
  • data driven decision-making
  • clear, fair and ethical reporting frameworks.

Vision setting for executives

Develop an executive engagement, vision and commitment program

The commitment of executives in all segments of the mining industry is essential for driving long term change in psychosocial safety culture.

These resources provide the framework for an executive psychosocial engagement, vision and commitment program.

Village design risk assessment

The psychosocial village design risk assessment tool helps improve village design and management in accordance with psychosocial wellbeing principles. It examines three key areas related to psychosocial wellbeing:

  1. Building design and physical environment
  2. Physical and mental health and wellbeing
  3. Fostering community

Note there is overlap between these areas, but they represent key elements for consideration to support physical and mental health of FIFO workers.

This tool is based on best practice elements outlined in the Village and accommodation design for psychosocial wellbeing literature review .
